Paul M. Sparrow is a writer, historical consultant, and the former director of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum. Before moving to the FDR Library he was the Deputy Director and Senior Vice President at the Newseum in Washington, DC. He is also an Emmy Award-winning documentary and television producer who began his career at KPIX, the CBS affiliate in San Francisco. A graduate of UC Santa Cruz, with an MFA from Mills College, Sparrow was born and raised in Bellport, N.Y..

Paul will discuss his book, Awakening the Spirit of America, and how Franklin Roosevelt used his political and oratorical acumen to persuade Americans to rebuff a national hero, stand for democracy, and defeat tyranny. A wonderfully written and researched study of a crucial period in 20th-century America. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signed by the author.
